ItalianoOnline Roulette rules are basically identical to those adhered to in traditional land-based casinos. To play you simply select a number or lettered box to bet on. Once all wagers have been placed, you click on the Spin button to spin the roulette wheel. If you selected the number(s) or lettered box that the ball landed on, you win that round.
Although a rather straightforward game, it is highly recommended to be familiarized with online roulette rules prior to placing any real money bets. Firstly, you are competing against the Dealer (House), and not other players. Secondly the total of all of your bets must add up to at least the table’s minimum.
European and American Online Roulette
You may be aware of the fact that there are two different types of roulette; European and American. The simple difference between the two is that a European Roulette wheel has 37 slots (36 numbers plus one zero), whereas the American version features the same 36 numbers though not one, but two zeros, for a total of 38 slots.
Official Online Roulette Rules
In keeping with Roulette’s official rules, there are 11 different kinds of bets you can make. These include both Inside and outside Bets.
Inside Bets
Online Roulette rules include what are known as ‘Inside bets’ – wagers consisting of specific numbers or combinations of numbers within the numbered layout, or along the layout’s border. These include:
Straight up bet -Simplest of all roulette bets.
Split bet –Wagering on two different numbers beside one another on the table layout.
Street bet -A bet on 3 different numbers with the same bet.
Corner bet -Betting on four neighbouring numbers.
Online Roulette rules also allow for other combos like a Square Bet (aka Four Bet) whereby your chips are placed at the intersection of 0 and 3 on the corner. You win if 0, 1, 2, or 3 are hit.
Outside Bets
Online Roulette rules also include ‘Outside Bets’ which are those placed outside of the main 37/38-numbered game layout and include:
Red or Black Bets -You wager on the result being either a red or black number.
Odd or Even Bets -Similar to the red/black bet, this even money wager is based on an odd or even outcome.
Low or High Bets -Online Roulette rules allow ranges of numbers to be bet on.
Columns Bets -Made by placing your chip(s) on one of the boxes labeled 2:1 at the bottom of each of the three columns.
Dozens Bets - much like columns bets, dozens lets you wager on either the first dozen numbers (1-12), second dozen (13-24), or third dozen (25-36).
