Poker Rules

To start playing poker, you first have to understand the poker rules involved while playing. Each game has different rules, but most poker rules are the same. Make sure you know all the poker rules before starting to play.

As the poker begins, every poker player is dealt two cards face down. These are referred to as hole cards or pocket cards. Right after the hole cards are dealt, the first round of betting, or so-called pre-flop, starts with the player to the immediate left of the big blind, and continues clockwise. After all bets are called, all bets are placed into the pot. When the first betting round is completed, the dealer exposes the next three cards face up on the table. These three cards are called the "flop." The second round of betting begins with the immediate remaining player seated to the left of the Button and continues clockwise.

After the third betting round is complete, the dealer exposes the next card face up on the table. This card is called the "river." It is possible to use both hole cards, one hole card, or no hole poker review cards (play the board), in an effort to make a hand. If there is a tie for the highest ranking hand, the pot is split evenly. After the pot is pushed to the winner, the Button moves one player to the left, and the next hand starts-review.
